October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The loss of a baby is one of the most painful things anyone will ever have to face. If you have experienced such a loss it can be a devastating and overwhelming. If that loss happens to a loved friend or family member it can be very difficult to know how to best support them in their grief.
Rebekah Mitchell, founder of Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death or M.E.N.D., will join us this month to address this very subject. She will talk about the experience and emotions of a family after the loss of a baby and ways that friends and family can best show their love and support during such a difficult time.
Rebekah Mitchell is the founder / president of Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death (M.E.N.D.), which she founded in 1996, one year following the stillbirth of her son, Jonathan Daniel. M.E.N.D. is a Christian non-profit organization, based in Irving, TX, that reaches out to families who have suffered the loss of a baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. M.E.N.D. has chapters across Texas and several other states.
