April Meeting

Secondary Infertility: the reality of a silent struggle

While primary infertility has slowly gained recognition, the pain and devastation of secondary infertility has not been widely received and acknowledged. The National Center for Health Statistics suggests an estimated 3 million women of childbearing age in the U.S. with one biological child deal with the hindrance of getting pregnant or carrying to term, oftentimes leaving women and couples to feel desolate with lack of support and awareness.

Join Andi Seibold, Au.D. as we discuss the causes, treatments, and emotional manifestations of secondary infertility as she shares her personal story with us.

Meeting will be held Thursday, April 23rd 2015 at 7pm at the University of North Texas Health Science Center,
1000 Montgomery St.,
Ft Worth, Texas
Medical Education & Training Building auditorium

Parking and main entrance are on Bunting Street.

Please remember that regular meetings are only for babies who are content to stay quietly in your lap or in a carrier for the duration of the meeting.

Thanks so much for your cooperation!

January Meeting

Join us on January 22, 2015 at 7pm as we welcome Dr. Heather Bartos, from Be. Women’s Health & Wellness, to speak about Vaginal Birth After Cesarean in North Texas. Dr. Bartos has been board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2008. She is also certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultants.

“Per the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) is a reasonable and appropriate choice for most women with one prior cesarean and for “some women” with two prior cesareans. Being pregnant with twins, going over 40 weeks, having an unknown or low vertical scar, or suspecting a “big baby” should not prevent a woman from planning a VBAC.”

“45% of American women are interested in the option of VBAC, yet 92% have a Repeat Cesarean Section (RCS). Some women chose their RCS or it was medically necessary. Others felt like they didn’t have much of a choice for numerous reasons including hospital VBAC bans; immense social pressure; or the misrepresentation of VBAC risks.” ~www.vbacfacts.com

The January meeting will also be the official release of the 2015 Texas Birth Networks Resource Guide.

Meeting will be held at the University of North Texas Health Science Center,
1000 Montgomery St.,
Ft Worth, Texas
in the Medical Education & Training Building, Room 111.
Parking and main entrance are on Bunting Street.

Please remember that regular meetings are only for babies who are content to stay quietly in your lap or in a carrier for the duration of the meeting.
